Pittsburgh Maternity Photography

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Maternity Photos for Courtney and her beautiful family in the studio in Pittsburgh! I just love the simple, elegant look of a light, simple white backdrop. It really brings your eye straight to Courtney, Brian and Mckinley and focuses on the connection between them. They were an absolute joy to work with and I am so excited for them to welcome baby number 2 (a boy!) into their family this March!

We are in such a crazy time in our lives where usually the decision to get maternity/newborn photos is an easy one. But nothing about the past year has been easy. We have had to let go of so much that brings us joy in the hopes we are safely interacting with others to avoid contracting and passing on COVID-19. However, I feel with safety precautions in place, such as mask wearing, keeping a distance and vigorous hand washing, it can bring a sense of normalcy back to our lives.

And that’s exactly what Courtney and I agreed upon. Being that it was an indoor session, because I mean who wants to be outside during a Pittsburgh Winter?!, we were cautious and protective of everyone involved.

A part of my session experience is styling the family in beautiful outfits pulled from my wardrobe as well as hair and make up done by my HMUA. Courtney was thrilled at the idea of hair and make up but ultimately we were in agreement to forego that part of the session due to the proximity a stylist would have to be to complete her look. Courtney did however take advantage of the styling I provided and we picked out a gorgeous dress for her and her daughter, while her husband brought something from home that worked perfectly. Courtney’s dress is a piece from Vici Collection and Mckinley’s dress is from Zara Kids.

Courtney also had two gorgeous visions of a fluffy tulle blue dress matching with her daughter to celebrate baby boy as well as a very sleek modern black dress and hat that she totally rocked!
