What are Heirloom Portraits?
Heirloom Portraits are a classic style of children’s photography that are designed to capture the sweet facial features of a child. We all know children grow so fast and it is the little details of their face that we love and want to freeze forever. These portraits are ideal for ages 1-5 years old but can also be photographed up until 12 years old with just a bit different look. This is a beautiful and timeless piece of art that is thoughtfully designed and produced with minimal work/stress for you as the parent. The first step to creating a successful heirloom fine art portrait is the clothing. As a full service photographer, I offer the perfect outfits for these portraits that create a timeless look. Classic southern peter pan collars, smockings and cap sleeves are excellent choices for these portraits. However, since this is not everyday outfits every parent keeps in their closet, I provide these simple, classic pieces for you. The next step is the actual image capture. As a professional photographer, I am experienced in choosing light that is perfect for highlighting their sweet little lips, and bright eyes, while also contouring and creating depth around their cheeks and little button noses. This type of lighting brings out every detail, allowing you to remember their perfect little faces forever. Lastly, each portrait is lightly edited to create the highest quality of fine art portraiture.

Is Heirloom Portraits Right for Me?
I firmly believe heirloom portraits are for everyone. Clients have fallen in love with heirloom portraits because of their classic nature, the quality of materials, and the timelessness of the styling. But also this is meant to be an incredibly easy process was for the child and their family. An heirloom portrait session doesn’t come with all the usual stresses of a traditional photo shoot. The session itself is stress-free and quick, usually only about 15 minutes long, which gets your little ones in and out as fast as possible as I know how hard it is for little ones to sit still for very long! These sessions take place in my studio where I provide everything needed to quickly grab your child’s attention and capture each of their sweet expressions. Client experience is of utmost importance to me; I want to make heirloom portraiture an easy and streamlined process so that everyone can have one of these special portraits of their children to enjoy for a lifetime.

What is included in an Heirloom Portrait Session?
My goal for these sessions is to be sure you receive a tangible print, framed print or other product that you will enjoy hanging up in your home. These photos are meant to be displayed and enjoyed for years to come. It is a portrait that you can hang on your wall for generations and always remember every little feature of your child in their most precious years. After your session you will receive a proof gallery of about 20 images and you will be able to choose your favorite 5. These sessions are print only, and high resolution digital files are only available upon purchase. I do, however, offer web ready watermarked images for social media sharing, which will be in your final online gallery.
